My new friend :)

It became my new cabinet . I kept saying "wow!".  JH is an excellent assembler.

Is this beautiful??? I'll fill all the units with the tea-pots or tea-cups in this way.  In fact, this idea comes from my mom's collection cabinet. HAHAHAH!!

See? I love this and thank JH for making my new furniture :)

One of my favorites.

We look really happy :) At that time, we were able to keep laughing without any kind of amusement for 8 hours. It was just possible. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Our happy time

Many married couples always advised me that we need to have something in common. It's like lubricant of my marriage life and I strongly agree with that. Since I started to study sometime I've felt like I'm not a newlywed but a roommate or something. The problem is that he likes sports but I don't like either watching it or playing it. I enjoy coffee but he can't taste coffee because it's way too bitter to him and we become tomatoes when we start to sip a beer. So, I'm really happy to share this time with him when I'm depressed or happy. Or just I feel like I need to be around him.

My mom gave me the pretty tea pot and tea cups when I went to Korea last year.

I bought the tea-tray because I need something to function as a basin for the excess water during the tea-brewing process and it's so perfect for me and my tea time. Without this, I keep walking up and down the kitchen to drain the excess water from a bowl and it's so annoying.

The excess water goes to the basin through the carved  Chinese.

My mom had taught me how to brew the tea and doing it without my mom makes me feel like I'm a grown-up.  HAHA!

Waiting for the tea is, I think, quite good time to rest. I picked the white creamer when I went to Target. Actually,  its actual purpose is not to be filled with tea but it has a  perfect size for ''that" thing.

I'm usually mesmerized by this color. This is so beautiful.

My mom has tons of those tea pots and tea cups and those tea accessories are well displayed so I feel like sometimes I'm in the tea-store or something.

No offense, but I need to tell this.  Some tea I bought here is kind of horrible. They're not tea. They are like water with scent. I'm not a tea-expert so I can't specifically explain what's the difference between the tea I bought here and the tea I used to drink but the one thing I can say is that they're not good tea.

My mom never works out. No. Never. But, surprisingly, when she got a check-up her blood vessels' age was 10 years younger than her actual age and the factor that we can guess is definitely having really good tea, continuously. She has been addictive to tea for 30years.

In addition, I need to tell something. You guys might think that having green tea is really good thing like drinking 3 cups or 4cups of green tea will help me lose my weight or something but it's not true. Even though you brew green tea with hot water the inherent feature brings some cold energy to your organ. You know what I mean? I don't mean the green tea "actually" makes your organ freeze. It's the asian concept.

Anyway, I'm going to steal some of my mom's tea pots or tea cups if I go to Korea. HAHAHAHAH!

@My office

Why does it take so long time to just turn one page!!

What I need when I'm depressed or become aggressive is just one piece of chocolate :)

I zoned out during the econometrics class because it's so boring and it's not included in the midterm. Yeah-I'm so myopic-kkkkkk-So drawing her eyes was really helpful to make me awake-kkkkkkkkkkkk

I played "outstaring game" with her and she beats me! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!! Not quite crazy but I'm getting there..zz

Zhiying taught Tom and me Chinese and it sounds like "Ttao." which means "yes" but its meaning becomes different according to the four different accents and they can tell which meaning the word actually has in the context. Tom and I got surprised and asked her "how can you do that?" and she said.." we just can!!"....learning a language in childhood seems like a magic.

A present

I had a bad dream after seeing the disaster in Japan. In the dream, Tsunami hit my home and it's washed away in the flood and I was in my home seeing people outside screaming at me. It was way too real so I could feel water splashed on my face from the window and it's like riding a really fast Flume ride. I hate Flume ride because it feels like I'm going to be thrown out of the boat.

I saw 'house-size' lions and 'truck-size' spiders that  mutate themselves to survive in the new earth condition and one of my friends became a victim of the super big lion.

Also, survivors are strictly controlled by the 'authority' and have to study really hard.(Why do I have to study after these disaster??? ) Even the earth disaster couldn't rescue me from the study.

This is a present for my friends living in Virginia. I bought the tea pot, tea cups and tea :)

This is the tea pot. Isn't it so cute?? I think the tea pot is cuter when it's in a set with the cups I bought because the cup is in the cat shape.
I wanted to take a picture of the cat-mouse family but I couldn't take off the sticker on the box, well.

Chew~!!

In fact, it takes my fancy...HAHAHAH!

**mom!! the Internet phone does not work! It has kept failing to connect to the network so I couldn't make a call!! Don't worry about us and I left my message on mom's website and my brother' website!!**

We're so different.

He seems so different from me when we think. I usually expect something really bad like the worst thing among possible results when I plan ahead, and I think it's the right definition of "plan-ahead".  Unlike me, he's too much optimistic so I feel really uncomfortable when we talk about our future because his plan does not make sense at all! But! he thinks I'm worried about too many things, too much. What??!!!!!!!!

Here's another thing.

Me:    "Hey! Why didn't you more focus on your presentation in English class? I didn't know that it's kind of important factor for you to get certified as a TA!

JH: What? I did hard work for the presentation!

Me: Phew-! It just took you about 2 or 3 hours to prepare. My friend has been under a lot of stress because if she does not pass the class, she'll lose her TAship and the same applies to you!!

JH: No!!! I even made my presentation with Power Point! That's so cool-

Me: What? Everybody uses Power Point when they officially present something. That's not special!

JH: That's not true because the instructor says that's not acceptable to use Power Point so I was special :)

Me: What????? Did she say that?? Why did you make the slides??? You're not going to lose some points! sigh sigh sigh sigh....

JH:..............................Oh!!!!!

...See? I really don't understand him.

What I want to say is,

Stop being so skeptical.

Trust your gut.

Just do what feels right!!!!!!!

...The problem is, I think it feels so right not to study, not to prepare for finals and not to be industrious. I just want to escape from what I'm supposed to do right now.

Why does it take me about 5 hours to sit at my desk? JH kept telling me " just screw up your exam! it's the easiest way to quit your program because you simply don't need to stay up all night for your exams and then be expelled from Ph.D program!! what's the problem??"

.. Yes. He's right. He's so right but why do I want to punch him in his belly whenever I heard that?
This is so mysterious.......hahahahahhahahahahahahahhaha...?

What's your life graph?

Have you heard of the life graph program? it's really easy to operate. Put your name in the blank and push the button on the right side and wait for the result. Here's a link  "Life Graph"

I think Korean can use their name in three ways, Chinese name, Korean name and English name so it's interesting because the program provides to me different results, depending on my three names.

This is another story. The way Korean use Chinese characters is totally different from the real Chinese's way and we can't pronounce their language. However, by the old tradition, parents give their babies names in Chinese and use the Chinese names when they go to fortune telling houses but recently, many of parents make baby's names in just Korean. My dad had spent about a month for my name and I'm really thankful to my dad because my name is so easy to pronounce regardless of other's own language. Name is so important in Korea so some parents go to the "name expert" who makes some special name for babies based on "fate". There are two types of fortune tellers and it's really hard to explain in English because there are no specific words to describe them. The first type is a person who analyzes and forecasts one's future based on people's birth month, birth day, birth year, birth time. It's rather some kind of statistical ways to predict one's fate because "they" deeply study how these 4 ways (birthday etc) represent each person's life based on tons of information accumulated for more than 1000years. Second type is a person who claims that they can see God and the god tells one's future. When I had an English tutor last year, she was really interested in those concepts because she had never heard of that and I was quite impressed in her reaction. I think  those things were super new to her.

This is my life graph.
I know this is just for fun but it definitely makes me flattered :)

@ Smoque BBQ

JH found this place for our dinner yesterday, which is so famous for the baby back. The restaurant was full of people waiting for licking their fingers to enjoy the sauce and the woman standing behind us said "wow! we're so lucky! it'll take less than 40 min!" ..what?? my expectation became higher, higher and finally hit the ceiling. To be honest, I can say " Texas Roadhouse in my town is way better than this!!"

Small salad with chicken add. The ranch dressing and the baked beans are so good!  In addition, this is not "small' salad!!
I prefer a plate piled with food to the right amount of food on my plate even if  I can't finish it at once because it just looks so good!!

Maybe, the owner or some loyal customers get upset because of my comment but I didn't feel any other special things on the ribs. It's cheaper, compared to other fine restaurant but when I consider the atmosphere of the place it's rather reasonable.

I think it's kind of some marketing strategy that they don't expand their place because a packed space with a lot of people inside and families waiting in a long line outside definitely make the restaurant special. It arouses "desire" which gets people to spend their time to taste the food and also, the owner doesn't need to waste their money to make a spacious room. This is so clever.

I don't know what I was thinking about. Probably, nothing.

Maybe, I occasionally would stop by and order food to go if I lived in Chicago and loved this kind of crowded places but I don't know! it's just my personal feeling.

Indy symphony orchestra

We went to Indy to enjoy Beethoven for the first time in the U.S. When we're in Korea we often went to art museums or a place where we could enjoy a variety of classical music. My heart was sometimes so dried because of Economics itself , my harsh academic advisor and my thesis when I was in the master program. Mostly, it just disappeared when I ate something delicious, chattered to my friends or slept enough but when it was not enough the most effective method to reduce my stress was to go to the my favorite art center which just takes 30 min to get there, and enjoy performances. The outside of the center itself was a great place to love. They keep playing several types of classical music and there is a big fountain which has water beautifully moving along the music so you can be happy by sitting in a chair and just watching it.  I so miss the moment. It feels like sweet water is deeply spread and absorbed into a dry parched land and in that case, the dry parched land means me. :(

I was so excited!! :)

The splendor of the art center??

The orchestra tuning up.

I love the walls. Are they so beautiful??

The way he enjoys the music.

I didn't want to leave..  I wanted to stay more in the mellow mood!!!

He got his hair cut today so looks like he just got discharged from the army and it reminds me of when we first met.
I put the hat on his head to cover his poor hairstyle as his request. I don't understand him and the most funny thing is that
he even likes this!! Oh-man!!  How can he possibly think this is better????? I would be upset if he said I'm beautiful because his thought that sticking the hat is better than the original pic says that his aesthetic sense sucks. He looks like Charley Chaplin-HAHAHAHAHAH
I had great time and wanted to stay and feel the reverberation of the music but he did not let me do that. He said after the performance " I'm hungry!"..........................what?? come on man!! Where's the romantic part?? it's just gone after our marriage?? I sometimes want him to give me some flowers on a nothing special day and it's really enough to bring one stem and say " I love you" at an unexpected moment or.. or something like this. ADN  those things definitely did exist before the marriage. I think men have to keep giving their girlfriends or wives some romance enough to feel like they're still "women". A mother (I can imagine the feeling even though I'm not yet) or a wife sometimes is not enough to define "me".

sushisushisushi

Sushi was not my favorite when I was in Korea. I mean it's one of my favorites but not the true favorite. It sounds strange. I always could go to sushi restaurants which serve really delicious rolls and sushi with reasonable price whenever I wanted it so it's not at the top of my 'always-want-to-eat' list. On the contrary to this, I've craved going out to eat sushi since I came here only because 'real sushi' is a rare item here. My taste is so crafty. I did not like it that much but yesterday even though we ordered two additional dishes besides main courses there's no time to take a picture of them. See? my taste changes, depending on scarcity. Hum.. it sounds one of the main factors to define Economics. Come to think of it my tongue has been studying Economics for almost 10years. That makes sense.

Ocean roll

Crazy roll and YES I'm crazy at this :)

Just one roll makes me happy- I have so low boundary to be happy :)

YummyYummyYummy!!!

His jaw seems to be dislocated because of this big roll-

My office

I share the office with my four class mates and it was the first time to come to the office since this semester started. Everyone asked me why didn't I come to the office for almost two weeks and the answer is really simple. I didn't want to study ;) I couldn't complain about my status because I had to finish two homework assignments this week which means literally, I had no time to whine.

My desk. I'm so sorry for abandoning you and living with a lot of dust.

In fact, my office is really good. Krannert itself is almost new so the office is so clean, spacious and computers with statistic tools are assigned to all students, there's no limit to print out everything you want and it's connected to PMU which includes cafeteria, Starbucks and other convenient things by underground tunnel so I don't need to fight against cold weather to get there.

Hello- I'm a gal getting older, older at every single moment

I didn't want to come to the office on Friday so I stayed late to finish all my homework by Thursday. If there are no exams I'm willing to attend tons of classes and keep studying anything I want. Sometimes, I feel so frustrated about myself. I feel like I become a nerd when I'm doing my homework. I realize I'm not as smart as I thought I was and dwell on it. Professor Chen said at the macro class,

"Undergraduate students think they know everything "
"Graduate students think they know nothing"
"Ph. D thinks nobody knows anything."

If it's true I feel better because that means this is a stressful experience everyone goes through and it's kind of condolences to me.

When you get tired, what's the most important thing to get??  For me, that is something sweet :)

Have a cheerful day

Cheesecake factory bar

"What's the best item on Cheese cake factory menu?? Do you have any idea??"

"Honey-Don't be serious! Let's start with bread"

We appeased our hunger with this delicious  bread

Steak Diane
Cashew chicken salad and I love this salad : )

We actually headed out to Target to buy milk but out of the blue, we went to Indianapolis to have dinner :) This is so fun. Before my marriage, I had to take a procedure such as making a phone call, arranging his or my schedule and picking some place to meet or waiting for him and so on but after marrying him, we can go out as soon as we decide what to have for dinner and a day like today, we can just turn our direction to anywhere we want.  I like this kind of moment. I mean I prefer sort of impromptu travel than a tightly planned one because I think that's the romantic aspect of travel.

Peekabooooooooooo!!!

These days, I've kept whining about my life. In fact, I was very satisfied with my life status a few months ago but after this winter break, I went through 7th adolescence and this was too stressful. I was torn between throwing everything away and keeping going and this process was so painful because there's no right answer and not only should I choose what's the best option for me but also take a responsibility for my action. Yesterday, we went to the art museum to enjoy Europe art  but we couldn't get in the exhibition. We fought on the way to the museum. JH scolded me for keeping whining and "suggested" me whether I have to accept it or just quit! I don't think there's no person who does not have any answers about their life. I mean, even if your friend asks about his/her career path he/she knows what they're going to choose. They just want me to listen to them, show support for their choice or something like that. Why does he "try" something in a wrong way? I know he just feels uncomfortable to see me tortured by myself. I know what I've done was not good but I was seriously suffering from my current status... Anyway, it's better than yesterday and I hope I would brace myself up well.

I love U :)
